Uniforms
While uniforms are not required to join scouting, it does play an important part of the program. Cub Scout uniforms: provide equality within Scouting, allow Scouts to be identified by others, display their achievements of badges and awards, and show their commitment to the ideals and purpose of Scouting.
Class A
The Class A (or sometimes called the Field) uniform consists of:
Official Shirt of the BSA:
Scouts in Lions wear the official Lion t-shirt.
Scouts in Tigers, Wolves, and Bear dens wear the blue Cub Scout button-up shirt.
Scouts in the Webelos program wear the khaki Cub Scout button-up shirt.
Neckerchief and slide
Patches for uniform shirt
Hat, pants, socks
For Scouts in the Lion, Tiger, Wolf and Bear Dens, they will also need a belt, as many awards that they will earn are ‘belt loops’. Any belt will do, it does not need to be the official Cub Scout belt.
Webelos Color Shoulder Loops (Webelos only).
More information and examples of Class A uniforms can be found on the BSA Webpage.
More information about insignia placement can be found here.
Class B
A class B (also known as an activity) shirt can be any Pack 548, scouting, or BSA T-Shirt. (2021 Pack shirt shown to the right)
